Lake Forest Academy to Visit Jin-Ni Hope School in June

A delegation group of 23 faculty members from Lake Forest Academy (LFA) in Illinois will visit Jin-Ni Lake Forest Academy Hope School in June.

The Hope School, located between the villages of Jindun and Nixia in Yujiang County of Jiangxi, was made possible by a joint effort between LFA students and Yujiang People’s Government in JiangXi, China. The school will replace the currently dilapidated village schools.

The delegation group is due for a 2-day visit, during which LFA faculty members will meet with Chen Shaozhong, Chief of Yujiang County, and other school officials to discuss future collaboration. Mr. Chen had been heavily involved in the project.

There will also be an unveiling ceremony for a bench on which all the donors who generously contributed to the cause have signed their names. The bench was designed and hand-made by the LFA 3-D Design team, who then donated it to the Project Hope Committee to support the fund-raising effort of building the new Hope School.

During the visit, Richard Zhao (LFA ’04, Cornell ’08) of Operation D.E.E.P. will also be at the Hope School. He will work together with Yujiang Government to host the visitors.
